“We all need to be uplifted, and we need to do the same for those around us. ”

KLR1KLR1 featuring Tyrese Livers release first single April 5th Saint Louis own KLR1 will debut his first release “Never Change” from his upcoming “Dreams” project 3/31/2023 For IMMEDIATE RELEASE:: KLR 1 RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO CONTACT: Kevin Wafford 314/537-2776 Kevin L Wafford, who performs, writes and produces music under the name of KLR1 (Kindness Love and Respect) will release his first single from his upcoming solo project, “DREAMS Volume 1.” A St. Louis native, Wafford moved to California in the early 80’s and returned back to St. Louis to open a new chapter in his life. While working on the 11 song project he also began teaching private piano lessons. “Teaching has always been in my heart to share the talent God gave me. It’s rewarding to just see the students I had follow their dream of playing the piano.” His music roots in St.Louis began with a local hit in 1981 with a record called “Rain Drops, As I Hear The Rain.” Who he co wrote with guitarist Eugen Taylor known locally and goes by the name Spud. Both played in the band Quiet Fire. To this day the record is still being requested in Saint Louis and abroad. In the new chapter his early days of church are reflected in the new project and songs. “I tried to keep it current mixed with a little old school and a little flavor for what's happening in today's music styles” says KLR1. He adds, “I respect people's opinion but I’m not an opinion pleaser. If I like it and God likes it then we are the majority. At the end of the day I just wanted to express God’s word through my music, And yes I hope people enjoy all my songs.” “Never Change” is the first single from the project which he co-wrote with Tyrese Livers. The two teamed up before Tyrese headed out to serve in the Navy. The duo met at a local music workshop and began working together on gospel and contemporary hip hop gospel songs along with Catherine Harris. “I believe lyrical content is key and that has alway been a part of my songwriting style. I took note from the best like; Stevie Wonder to Carol King to even some of today's young prolific writers. “ Never Change” is a song all about trust and knowing how Christ will never change or do something different. “I guess you can say he was stuck in his ways,” Wafford says humorously. When asked what inspired him to produce the Dreams Project he says, “this is my second Gospel project and in 2008 I produced the first Gospel double CD for the Community College at Forest Park titled Heritage 08, and I was grateful to have that opportunity to do it. This one is different. All the songs I composed and I invited some of the best vocalists in Saint Louis to join me on the project. I just want to do the leg work that the Lord has put on my heart to do.” My goal in life is to honor the Lord through my music and nothing will ever change that.

“CARRY YOU”

TRIBUTE SONG TO BE RELEASED NOVEMBER 1ST TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.

On Veteran's day November 11th  KLR1 featuring Mary Veda and Daniel McRath will release "Carry you " A tribute recording to honor Veterans . " A song that will war, the hearts of all Veterans, " tates KLR 1

November 1st, 2020, Songwriter producer KLR1 will pay tribute to all the Veterans. The heartfelt inspirational song features Mary Veda and Daniel McRath.

The song “Carry You” will be released and available for download on all music platforms on November 1st, just in time for the Veteran’s Day November 11th. Proceeds from each download will benefit the families of the Wounded Warriors Project. The goal is to raise the same amount of dollars equal to the 14,505 feet elevation peak of Mt Whitney. This would also be the same distance it would take retired Marine Sergeant Johnathan Blank and John Nelson to reach the top of Mt Whitney. Mt Whitney is located in the Sequoia National Park / Inyo National Forest, California.

More than 52,000 servicemen and women were physically injured in recent military conflicts. 500,000 living with invisible wounds, from depression to post-traumatic stress disorder. 320,000 experiencing and debilitating brain trauma.

The song was inspired after KLR1 saw a news clip of the two men on TV and felt moved by the comradery the two marines shared. John Nelson carried Blank to the top of Mt. Timpanogos on his back in  2019  to an elevation of 11,752 Ft in Utah in 2019.

“ It was not hard coming up with the music and words looking at the clip gave me the vision and all the  inspiration I needed.” says KLR1, whose real name is Kevin Wafford.
