Kevin L Wafford KLR1 "Weeping Flowers" Symphony No 2 in G Major
A musical journey through the beauty and sorrow of nature, featuring piano, strings, bassoon and a full orchestra.
Join composer Kevin L Wafford KLR1 as he presents his second symphony, a four-movement masterpiece inspired by the imagery of flowers. From the delicate opening theme to the triumphant finale, this symphony explores the emotions and expressions of the floral world, with a special focus on the bassoon as a solo instrument.

• The first movement, Andante, introduces the main motif of the symphony, a gentle melody played by the piano and echoed by the strings. The music evokes a sense of wonder and awe at the sight of blooming flowers, as well as a hint of sadness for their fragility and impermanence. The driving bass drum accentuates the score throughout, adding a sense of urgency and drama.

• The second movement, Scherzo, is a lively and playful contrast to the first movement. Through this movement the music and images feature the wood block that depicts the sound of a woodpecker near the blooming flowers, accompanied by a harpsichord and flutes rhythmic variations and syncopation expressiveness .

• The third movement, Allegro, is the most dramatic and intense part of the symphony. The music portrays the struggle and resilience of the flowers in the face of storms and droughts, with powerful chords and dissonance. The strings are featured in this movement, playing with passion and energy.

• The fourth and final movement, Rondo, is a joyful and optimistic conclusion to the symphony. The music celebrates the beauty and diversity of the flowers, with a rich and colorful orchestration. The piano, strings, bassoon and orchestra join together in a harmonious and uplifting melody, ending with a glorious crescendo.

The symphony is accompanied by a stunning music video that shows various scenes of flowers and nature, matching the mood and tempo of each movement. The video and the music complement each other in creating a unique and immersive experience for the audience.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness a musical masterpiece by Kevin L Wafford KLR1, a talented and innovative composer who brings new life and meaning to classical music.

About the composer
Kevin L Wafford was born in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1959. His love for music began at Community Music school in Saint Louis, MO. where he began his studies at the piano. Through grade and elementary school he developed a passion for the flute and began to take lessons. Since piano was not an option for marching bands, the flute allowed him to participate in the school orchestra. This is where the seed of orchestral and classical music began. Kevin went on to study music pedagogy at Webster College and Forest Park community college.

On and off he has played and performed in local bands around Saint Louis and in Southern California. While in California he was mentored by world renown drummer James Gadson.

Kevin has composed and written over 70 musical scores which include a repertoire of classical, gospel, jazz and R&B.
